The Impact of Your Participation
Whether you work or live in the IMD, an active engaged community helps strengthen the connections between our partners and surrounding neighborhoods, identifying areas of need to generate ideas that benefit all of us — ensuring everyone’s voice is heard and valued.
When you choose to get involved, you can help shape the future of the IMD, help boost local businesses, enhance public services, promote arts and culture, and help make our community more sustainable.
Opportunities for Engagement
Discover the many opportunities to contribute to the IMD community. These initiatives are organized by two primary groups: those led directly by the IMD Commission and those coordinated by our valued community partners. From advisory councils and sustainability projects to inclusive events and urban farming, there’s a meaningful way for everyone to participate in strengthening our district.

Urban Beekeeping
A joing imitative between the IMD Commission and UI Health, we launched an urban beekeeping program and operate a hive in the IMD. Urban beekeeping supports biodiversity, pollinates plants, and improves local ecosystems. Our first harvest was in Fall 2024.
